Srinagar July, 01: Bandipora police in its drive against drug peddlers, nabbed four peddlers and recovered large quantity of Codeine Phosphate from their possession.
Acting on a specific information, a police party of Police station Sumbal headed by SHO Sumbal Mehboob Hussain Banday under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Rashid Akbar laid a Naka at Shilvat crossing.
During the Naka an Alto car bearing registration number JK16-3513 was intercepted. On checking of the car 800 codeine phosphate bottles were recovered. Four peddlers who were transporting these drugs have been arrested and were identified as Ashraf Wani resident of Tulmulla Ganderbal, Hilal Ahmad Wani resident of Wangipora,
anveer Ahmad Rather and Parveez Ahmad Rather both residents of Nesbal. Sumbal Police has registered a case FIR number 121/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up.
During the initial investigation it surfaced that these drugs were transported from Srinagar to Sumbal.
