BJP State General Secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, alongwith State Vice-President Sakina Bano and State Secretary & Membership Incharge Munish Sharma chaired a meeting of District Presidents, District Membership Prabharis and Incharges as well as heads of BJYM, Mahila Morcha, Anusuchit Jaati Morcha, Kissan Morcha and Minority Morcha to review the progress made so far in the ongoing membership drive in the state. BJP MLAs, who have been serving the party as District Presidents, also attended this meeting.
Ashok Koul, while expressing satisfaction over the progress made so far, said that the BJP activists have to put more efforts and devote more time for the remaining period so that the set target is achieved well in time. He also sought suggestions to further speed up the membership drive adding that “ special membership drive” should also be taken for 2-3 days in the mid of March so that people get easy access to the party activists who are undertaking this drive. He also asked the invitees in the meeting to utilize traditional means of publicity of this drive to mobilize public.
Munish Sharma said that the party’s target of registering 11 lakh members is getting overwhelming response in every nook and corner and expressed hope that BJP will create history of becoming first ever political party in the state to get such a large number of members registered with it.
