13-yr-old swimmer from Nepal is the youngest at Rio Olympics and she just won

She is all of 13 years old and wears braces on her teeth. Now, imagine being the youngest at Olympics and at your qualifying event, swimming in this case, you swim so hard that you tear your suit and still come out on top!

Al of this is no imagination and just happened. Nepal’s Gaurika Singh managed to win the heats at the women’s 100m backstroke event. She is the youngest among almost 10,000 athletes taking part at Rio Olympics.

Gaurika came to England when she was two but ater she took up swimming, she realised she was fast and chose to represent her native country.

Remember the deadly earthquake in Nepal last year? Gaurika was in Nepal, on the fifth floor of a building in Kathmandu, hiding under a table and came out on top there as well. The 7.8 magnitude quake killed 9,000 people.

She is just 13 and time is on her side.
