14-yr-old star cricketer from Kashmir aims to play for India soon

14-year-old Abdul Samyed plays in the Under-16 Cricket Team of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association and he aspires to play for the Indian Team. He has managed to accomplish things that most people fail to do, and that too at a very young age.

With his exceptional batting and bowling skills, he has represented the state team nationally in the Under-16 League five times. He has turned out to be a dazzling all-rounder from the state who has defeated many national level players senior to him.

In his career so far, he has scored more than 1000 runs and taken almost 200 wickets. Not only this, he is even a brilliant Wicket-keeper.

He is the only player from the state who is 14 and has such an incredible record and also the only one to have played Nationals five times and selected for Vijay Hazare Cup. In the latter event, he scored a century.

As a child, Samyed was always inclined to the sport and used to practice with his father, who was also a cricketer. His family and relatives have always supported him. His coach, Mukesh Sharma has been a big support. Some of his practice sessions extend upto 8 hours.

With the zeal and determination that Abdul Samyed puts into his practice, he hopes of playing in the Ranji Trophy soon. He believes that there is no substitute for hard work if one aspires to succeed.
