1500 J&K students expelled from Pacific University, Udaipur over a minor fight

Jammu, September 14: The management of Pacific University, Udaipur has expelled more than 1500 students of Jammu and Kashmir after a fight broke out between one student from the state and a local student.

As per reports in a local news daily, the fight between one student from J&K and one local Rajasthani student broke out over a small issue in a hostel mess. Although the fight was resolved with the intervention of students from both the sides but after sometime, a number of Rajasthani students along with the one involved in the fight before came and beat all the students from J&K with sticks and other objects.

The students from J&K alleged that five students among them were seriously injured and the local students also broke their laptops and other personal belongings and later got them arrested. When the matter was taken to the registrar he instead of ensuring their security, asked them to vacate the campus. The registrar even arranged buses and asked the students to board them and go back home.

“There are over 1500 students from J&K studying in the university who have been asked to vacate the university without any rhyme or reason. The local students and goons had full backing of police and university authorities and nobody is listening to us. Our future is in big danger”, said one student.
