Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Hanjura today informed the Legislative Council that 17 new Degree Colleges have been approved by the cabinet for uncovered areas in the state.
Responding to a calling attention notice of MLC Sham Lal Bhagat in this regard, the Minister said there are two fully functional GDCs in district headquarters at Doda and Ramban.
The Minister said Doda district has a GDC in Doda town, Bhaderwah, Kilhotran and Thathri.
Similarly there is one each GDC functional in Ramban town, Banihal and Gool in district Ramban.
Meanwhile, the Minister informed the House that the state cabinet has approved 17 more new GDCs vide its decision no: 203/12/2017 dated 23.10.2017. “These colleges are being established in uncovered assembly segments of the state and the location wise details are being worked out by the Education Department,” the minister added.
