Doda, 06 May: A case death of an 18-year old girl undergoing treatment at the private clinic of a government employed doctor has come to light. The accused, Doctor Rattan Singh Manhas was suspended last night after the death of the girl sparked protests. His clinic has also been sealed and the case is being investigated at present.
The relatives of the girl and locals protested outside the clinic and have demanded the doctor’s arrest.
The deceased girl’s mother, Shahida Begum told the media persons that her daughter was experiencing a chest congestion for sometime. Shahida along with her husband took the girl for better treatment at Dr. Rattan Manhas’ Private clinic.
Dr. Manhas prescribed medicines which were not available anywhere after which the doctor administered an injection to the deceased, alleges Shahida.
Shahida further elaborated saying the doctor then went on to give another injection to her daughter and that is when the 18-year-old gave up.
Shahida alleges that after the death of her daughter, Dr. Manhas took the dead body of her daughter and the family members to the govt hospital. The doctor took the girl inside and after five minutes said that the girl had died.
Chief Medical officer Doda, Dr. Kulbhushan suspended Dr Manhas immediately and directed an immediate investigation into the matter. The tehsildar of the area has sealed Dr. Mahas’ Clinic for the time being.
