Youth Festival “Sangam-2015” commenced at Bhaderwah Campus
BHADERWAH NOVEMBER 28: Bhaderwah Campus in collaboration with 4 Rastryia Rifles (Bihar) under the aegis of CIF(Delta) organised four days youth festival “Sangam 2015” under “op Sadhbhavana” which commenced here today.
This mega event was inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Sharma MOS R&B and Revenue , Mr. Daleep Parihar MLA Bhaderwah, Professor R D Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, in the presence of Commander 4 Sector RR, and Prof. GM Bhat Rector Bhaderwah Campus, besides of large number of Civil and Military dignitaries SDM, Bhadarwah, ASP Bhdarwah, persons from Civil Administration, Police Department, CRPF, Prominent Citizens of Bhadarwah, Principals and Teachers of Colleges/Schools.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sunil Sharma Minister of State for R&B and Revenue while lauding the role of Army said that it is because of the sacrifices of Army personals that we are living a peaceful life. He congratulated the Army and Bhaderwah Campus for organising this colourful bonanza. “The cultural programme presented by the students of the Bhaderwah Campus depicted mutual harmony and brotherhood which is an integral part of the culture of chinab region,” he said further adding that the people of this region especially youths should rise above the communal politics and secure a bright future for them selves and for this region.
The Minister, while proposing an international scientist meet at Bhaderwah Campus, said that University should prepare a booklet depicting the natural resources of Chinab region and on that basis internationally reputed scientists will be lewd to come this region. “These scientists will explore the possibilities to find out the ample hidden resources which are spread within the mountains of this Chinab region,” he added
The Minister while emphasising on youth of this region said that the youths of the Chinab valley should play a vital role in making this region a hub of higher learning. “Bhaderwah Campus can play an important role in securing the future of this region and the way the Campus is progressing the days are very near when it will emerge as an important education hub of not only this region but of entire country,” he said further lauding the role of Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Prof. RD Sharma and Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof GM Bhat for taking keen interest in making this temple of higher learning a source of light for under privilege students.
The Minister also stressed to identify area for the establishment of Village Knowledge Centre which will benefit farmers and educated youth by obtaining desired information and their feedback for framing policies and taking other welfare measures.On the demand of inclusion of Science subjects in the University, the Minister asked Rector to prepare a blueprint for developing Bhaderwah campus as a model campus. He assured that the matter of developing Bhaderwah campus as centre of quality learning will be taken up with the Minister of Human Resource Development.
MLA Bhaderwah Mr Daleep Singh Parihar also lauded the efforts of RR and Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu for organising such a gala event which will benefit the youths.
Professor R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu in his address praised the Armed Forces for encouraging such constructive activities in the region which help in diverting the energies of the youth in proper direction thus helping in weaning them away from anti-social activities.
Vice Chancellor further said that Bhaderwah Campus has tremendous potential and can be provided with more relevant Post Graduate courses which will benefit the people of Chinab belt. He said that Bhaderwah Campus can be a center which can bring higher education to the doorsteps of this underprivileged and geographically remote region of our state. “In the present context of globalization and techonogical advancement, Bhaderwah Campus can become a hub of new age knowledge and information technology related education,” he added.
Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. GM Bhat and CO 4RR in their welcome address congratulated the youth of chinab valley for shunning the path of violence and embarrassing education and knowledge leading to self development and enriching the society. Prof. Bhat said that in coming time more such events will be organised to explore the unexplored talent of this hilly district. They also thanked the colleges participating in the event and who could make it possible on a very short notice in such a harsh weather. They also highlighted the role of youth in developing the Nation and importance of Army in one’s life. He also said that the profession of Army is the noblest profession and students should aspire to be part of it.
The event also witnessed participation of approximately 400 students and teachers from 08 Colleges including Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu, Islamia Faridia College, Kishtwar, Government Degree Colleges of Bhadarwah, Doda, Kisthwar, Kilotran, Marwah and Chhatru.Students of Bhaderwah Campus showcased their skills in dancing and singing on the day of Opening Ceremony of the event.
In all 30 different competitions viz Debate, Sketching, Clay Modelling, Photography, Athletics, Chess, Badminton for girls, Quiz, Painting, Marathon, Volleyball and Cricket etc will be conducted during the three days of Youth Festival. Several educational and motivational lectures will also delivered by various dignitaries including Rector, Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu. Besides to this information stalls were also put, which included Equipment & Weapon Display and stalls like Join Army, NCC, Free Internet Cafe, CSD, MI Room, Bank, MSME and Career Counselling. 2IC 4RR presented vote of thanks.
