Two wheelers rally organized for road safety awareness
Srinagar, Dec 06: Today on 6th of December, 2015, Traffic Police organized a “Two Wheelers Rally” in collaboration with private partners (a CSR effort) to sensitize bikers about traffic rules with particular reference to the use of Safety Helmets. The rally was flagged off by Hon’ble Minister for R&B Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari near Police Golf Course, Boulevard, Srinagar.
The Rally started from Lalit Ghat, Boulevard covered a distance of about 12 Kilometers via Nehru Park, Dalgate, TRC, Abdullah Bridge, Hatric, Convent, Radio Colony, Jawahar Nagar, Bund along flood channel, Ram Bagh, Baghat Chowk, Hyderpora, Sanat Nagar and culminated at Sir Mohammad Iqbal Convention Centre, Sanat Nagar.
Overwhelming response of youth braving morning chill of Dal lake was seen at the venue at Lalit Ghat with more than 250 participants attending the rally including Director General of Police, J&K Shri K. Rajendra Kumar. The rally along the route was decorated with banners, hoardings and elaborate arrangements were seen on way upto the culminating point of the rally.
Participation of Director General of Police, J&K Shri K. Rajendra Kumar in the rally was a message to the youth to adhere the traffic rules and ensure use of safety Helmet.
Sponsors, esteemed guests and participants were decorated with mementos and certificates. Tea and special refreshment was served to the participants.
On the conclusion SSP Traffic City Srinagar Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman presented vote of thanks to participants, sponsors, media, event mangers and Police fraternity.
