Met predicts rains in Jammu from Wednesday onwards
Jammu, December 07: According to the predictions by State Meteorological Department, the Jammu is likely to receive medium to fairly widespread rains this week.
The winter capital of the state, which is reeling under a dry spell since the region has received no rain for the past month. The department has said that the western disturbance may affect the state and its adjoining areas from Wednesday onwards and it will bring rains.
As per an official, “By december 9, the western disturbance is likely to hit the state which will affect J&K and adjoining areas.”
Also, the department has predicted moderate snow over hills. Again, there is going to occur light to moderate rains at many places of the Pir Panjal ranges in Kashmir division and at a few places over Ladakh and higher reaches of the Jammu region.
The wet weather will continue till next week and it is likely to disturb surface and air transport systems of the state, warns the department.
However, Jammu observed a clear sky today. The recorded a minimum temperature of Jammu for today is 9°C and maximum is 24°C. Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of -1°C and a maximum of 14°C.
