Srinagar, April 7: Two high-profile militants who were killed in the gunfight with Indian Armed forces after a brief gun-battle saw a rousing presence of locals in their funeral. Confirmed inputs from sources received at the time of filing the report say that 21-shots were fired by militants who were also attending the funeral.
As has become common these days, thousands had gathered for the funeral this time too.
It is not clear so far how many militants were present in the procession. However, the shots fired were received with great cheer and applause by the locals attending the funeral.
It is pertinent to mention that during the years of militancy, shots were fired openly by militants as a mark of respect for fellow militants killed in action.
