Over 230 roads, 232 WSS, 11 bridges restored in Baramulla
BARAMULLA: To review the restoration process of various schemes which were damaged due to the recent floods and heavy rains, an officers meeting was held under the chairmanship of DDC Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, here today.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Baramulla, Superintending Engineers of R & B, Hydraulics and Power Development Department besides other senior officers of the administration.
During the meeting, tehsil wise information with regard to the restoration of Water Supply Schemes, roads, power supply, health institutions, schools, bridges, etc. was discussed threadbare. It was apprised that 11 out of 15 damaged bridges have so far been restored in the District. Similarly, 245 roads were damaged against which 230 stand restored, while 232 water supply schemes against 237 damaged have also been restored in the District.
The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned officers to expedite their efforts so that the un-restored schemes can be restored within a short period. He stressed for early restoration of the damaged bridge at Old Town, Baramulla to enable people’s movement from Old town to New town Baramulla.
Physical and financial achievements made by various Departments under the annual plan of 2014-15 were also reviewed during the meeting. The DDC directed the officers to ensure cent percent achievements of their fixed targets of the normal plan within the stipulated period.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 123.0 Crore were proposed for the annual plan of 2014-15, out of which Rs. 30.00 Crore stand utilized till the end of September, 2014 on various developmental and welfare schemes in the District.
