Jammu: ‘Jashn-e-Riyasat’, a three day tourism festival entered its second day today.
Prof Keshav Sharman Registrar University of Jammu and Dean, faculty of business studies, was the chief guest. Dr Naseem Jawed Choudhary joint director of hospitality and protocol, was the guest of honour.
The event began at 10 am with a food workshop called “Gastronomia Culinaria”.
“We are here to promote the art of culinary as a profession. In the evening our chefs will demonstrate various dishes which are known to very few people. Our main objective is to tell people that culinary is a profession that you can pursue, ” said chef Devander Rana.
Food workshop was followed by a PowerPoint presentation competition which was strictly for graduates and post-graduate students. The participants made presentations promoting the tourism in Jammu region.
The day ended with a slogan writing competition in which students were required to write slogan or punch line on the theme “Tourism for Jammu”.
The fest will end tomorrow with various other interesting completions and workshops.
Let us all unite and celebrate this fest as a symbol of our common efforts in making tourism available for all and create a widespread awareness among the people of Jammu and Kashmir to promote and rejoice our culturally essence.
