3, 93,400 electorate to use their right to franchise in Kup EVMs dispatched to Karnah

KUPWARA: Arrangements for conducting smooth Lok Sabha Elections on May 07, 2014 in Kupwara district, which is a part of 01-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, were finalized with officers related to election process under the chairmanship of District Election Officer, Kupwara.
In this connection, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for Karnah segment have been dispatched today and handed over to Assistant Returning Officer, Karnah who is also Sub Divisional Magistrate. The Strong Room has been established for the EVMs.
As many as 3, 93,400 voters are going to use their franchise at 531 polling booths in Kupwara district. The necessary training has been imparted to the Polling Staff at Kupwara, Handwara and Langate wherein 2556 employees were given detailed information regarding election matters, besides the orders were handed over to the concerned Presiding Officers of Karnah, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara and Langate Assembly segments.
Meanwhile, the District Election Officer, Kupwara has said that the election campaigning would be over on May 05, 2014 at 6 p.m in the district.
