3 killed, 2 injured as car falls into gorge in Kishtwar
Kishtwar, December 19: Three people were killed while the other two seriously injured, when the car they were riding in fell into a deep gorge in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday at around 11:30 in the morning, police said.
As per reports, a Tavera car bearing registration number JK 17-0951 was travelling from Gandhoh to Tathari. The driver when came to know that the car is about to fell in the 200 ft deep gorge jumped out of the car while the other five people travelling in the car fell into the gorge.
All the five were badly injured and were rescued by some army men and local who were present nearby. They were admitted to Doda District Hospital where two of them succumb to their injures while another one seriously injured person was referred to Government Medical Hospital, Jammu where he also lost his life. The rest two were still under treatment at Doda Hospital.
The deceased persons had been identified as Shukardeen s/o Ahmadullah r/o Chanyas, Ishtiyaq Ahmed s/o Abdullah r/o Budhali and Mohammad Ejaas s/o Mohammad Shareef r/o Tandala while the injured two has been identified as Omi Chand s/o Gangadhar r/O Gangota and Kiran Devi w/o Kuldeep r/o Gangota.
A case has been registered in this connection and an investigation is underway and hunt has been launched to nab the driver, police said.
