SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 19: Minister of State for Forests, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, today said that three Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) will be setup in Lethpora area of Pampore Constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore.
He said these projects will address the scarcity of water in the constituency to a large extent.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting to review pace of works taken under KLC funds, released under various sectors including Public Health Engineering (PHE) sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the concerned to start construction work on these schemes and ensure their timely completion. He also asked the concerned to ensure functioning of all defunct water pipes in the Constituency.
He added that the present Government led by Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to address grievances of the people and work for overall development of the State. He said the Government is working on augmenting Water Supply Schemes which will boost the water supply scenario in rural areas of the State.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues including release of funds under KLC in different sectors like Rural Development, Roads & Buildings and Power. The meeting was informed that Rs 15.83 crore have been released under KLC, so far, out of which Rs 3.13 core have been released under R & B sector, Rs 1.02 crore under RDD, Rs 4 crore under PHE and Rs 5.58 crore for Power.
The meeting was attended by the District Development Commissioner Pulwama Munir-ul-Islam, Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir and other officers of the PHE Department.
