REASI, JULY 11: Around 30 new health centers including various Primary Health Centers and Sub Centers are coming up in the hilly district of Reasi by the end of the year 2015.
This was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Sushma Chauhan, who is also chairman of District Health Society while reviewing the physical and financial achievements and functioning of healthcare institutions. He also reviewed the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Chief medical Officer Dr. Parminder Singh, District Social Welfare Officer, Pritam Thappa, Deputy CMO, Dr K C Dogra, Executive Engineer PHE, PDD, all block medical officers and various other health officials attended the meeting.
The CMO briefed the meeting about the progress of various schemes under National Health Mission and planning sector for the first quarter of current financial year ending June-2015. He informed that about 1017 institutional deliveries were conducted, while 223 institutional deliveries were escorted by ASHAs. He further added that Rs 26.29 lakh expenditure was recorded in the implementation of NRHM components like Janani Suraksha Yojna, Maternal Health, Child Health, Family Planning, Immunization, Village Health and Sanitation .
The CMO further informed that under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram 610 pregnant women and 15 neonates were provided free referral transport, 506 pregnant women were provided free diet and 38 sick neonates provided drugs and consumables.
The DC on the occasion advised the Medical officers that strengthening Mother and Child Tracking system in the district shall be the best and the fastest tool to improve the Institutional delivery, adding that patients should be referred to outside district only if the facilities required for such treatment are not available. District and Block level NHM Staffs should make awareness on available health services from the grass root level onwards, Chauhan added further.
