300 militants ready to enter the valley ahead of PM’s visit

Srinagar, November 03: There are nearly 300 militants waiting at the launch pads near the Line of Control (LoC) to infiltrate into India, said Lieutenant General Satish Dua, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Srinagar based 15 Corps.

There is a lots of pressure on these militants waiting actross the Line of Control ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir on November 7. Their bossses across the border want them to infilterate but they are being unable to do that. Hence, they are waiting at the launch pads so thatthey do not miss out any opportunity to infiltrate into India, explains Lieutenant General Dua.

He said that it is the coordinated efforts of Indian Army and security agencies deputed in the valley which is hampering the infilteration process.

“We have been saying all along that this year infiltration has been next to nil. And it is all the efforts of our multi layered counter infiltration, which was in place.Frustrated at the attempts to infiltration and not able to succeed, sometimes they come inside just across LoC do some firing and go back,” he added.

According to an army official, the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC in Gurez’s Eizmarg area in North Kashmir. The Pakistani troops fired at many Indian positions with light and medium caliber weapons, including rockets.
