Srinagar, October 27: A total of about 300 doctors are going to be axed out of their services very soon for being absent from their duties for more than a year. The list has been prepared by authorities of the doctors posted in various government hospitals in the state but actually working in private health sector.
Quoting a government official, “The department has sent repeated notices to these 300 specialist doctors who are posted in separate government hospitals but have remained absent for years altogether. Although some of them have rejoined their services, most of the doctors are not willing to return and it is now time to take strict action against these doctors who have taken the Government for granted.”
However, the department has also decided to refill these posts lying vacant for years after the order is implemented. The government will be referring the posts to Public Service Commission for filling them up.
