J&K : Youth killed by falling tree branch due to Wind storm (Watch Video)

A pedestrian was killed today when several branches of a Chinar tree fell down on the pedestrian due to windstorm at Sumbal in North Kashmiri’s Bandipora district.
Eye witnesses told this reporter that today at an around 3:30 pm a strong windstorm took place in the area and a pedestrian who was walking alongside the road came under the felldown branches of a Chinar tree and later died at Sumbal hospital

The person was identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Kumar who was in his early 20’s ,Son of Gh Qadir Kumar,a resident of Asham Sumbal.

As soon as the news of the died person circulated in and adjoining areas of Sumbal,all the shopkeepers shutted down their shutters and held a strong protest against the whole district administration.

The felldown branches of Chinar tree also damaged several electrical polls and electrical wires as well. However,the power supply in the entire area has temporarily been cut off.
It is pertinent to mention here that  even a single officer from the district administration could not find it genuine to be present on the spot.
In the meantime,the trader’s federation Sumbal has called for complete shutdown against the incident on tomorrowWednesday).
