35 dengue cases reported in Jammu

Jammu: A total of 35 dengue cases have been reported so far this year in Jammu region.

According to an official of Health Department, 35 people from various parts of the Jammu province have been found positive for Dengue till date.

“However, no death has been reported due to this vector borne disease so far,” he added.

Elaborating more, he said that out of 35 dengue cases, 15 have been reported from Samba district, 10 from Jammu, 3 from Rajouri, 2 each from Kathua and Ramban districts and 1 each from Udhampur and Poonch districts while the address of the one patient is yet to be ascertain.

“We are taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of dengue,” he said, adding that measures were being taken at personal, household, community and departmental level to fight the disease.

He advised the people not to allow water stagnation in empty pots, water coolers, earthen pots, as larva of dengue mosquitoes started breeding in stagnated fresh water in 1 week to 10 days.
