36000 accounts opened under PMJDY
Awareness camps held across Poonch
POONCH: Over 36000 accounts have been opened by different banks under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) while 11510 persons have been enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and 6511 under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna (PMJJY).
Atal Pension Yojana (APY), a scheme for all those workers/labourers/individuals working in unorganized sector who are not covered under any other pension schemes is also getting a good response from the target group in the district.
Lead Bank Department Poonch organized “Town Hall Meetings” at Poonch, Mendhar, Mandi, Surankote, Draba, Chandank for awareness and publicity of Social Security Schemes PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY and MUDRA launched by the Prime Minister. Prominent features of these schemes were highlighted in these meetings by the representatives of various Government Departments, banks, LIC of India and NGOs.
District Development Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani has instructed the Lead Bank Department to organize such camps in the rural areas of the hilly district so that the targeted groups could avail the benefits of these schemes.
