The Republic Day Parade in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir is one event that takes place in the city where we get to see Jammu and Kashmir in all it’s glory.
With the record for lowest temperature and the thick blanket of fog that has engulfed Jammu city, we all would like to spend the national holiday within the four walls of our homes. But here are the reasons why we should move out and attend this year’s parade which is going to be held tomorrow morning at Maulana Azad Stadium!
BIGGEST MYSTERY: WHO WILL BE THE GUESTS THIS YEAR
According to tradition, every year the national flag is hoisted by Chief Minister in the winter capital and Governor in Srinagar. But with no Chief Minister of the state this year just as the last year, the Governor will Hoist the flag in Jammu. It will be interesting to see who will hoist National Flag at the similar function in Srinagar?
Also in the absence of council of ministers, who will attend the parade this year as the special guest is also a mystery.

BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE TELECAST ON TV
Moving out and watching the event live is the only option here in Jammu.
A huge chunk of taxpayer’s money is spent every year for the successful organization of Republic Day Parade. The travelling of students, their accommodation, refreshments, fuel, security establishments and a lot of other things; everything is paid from government’s pocket which is basically your money.
Besides, attending Republic Day parade is your duty and the only way to celebrate Republic Day.
BECAUSE SCHOOL KIDS, THE CADETS, SECURITY PERSONNEL START PREPARING A MONTH BEFORE
Thousands of school children including NCC Cadets, men from Indian Army and other security forces from all over the state have worked really hard to present a very amazing event to be held tomorrow. Not only the students of the schools in the city area but from far off districts leave no stone unturned to make the program as scintillating and colorful as it can be. This year too they started preparing more than a month ago and even sacrificed their winter vacations for R-Day parade.
At-least, attend the parade for the sake of these students.
BECAUSE AIR FORCE IS GOING TO SHOWCASE AN AIR SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME
For the first time in the history of Republic Day Parades in Jammu, the Air Force will conduct an acrobatic unmanned aerial vehicle show and there will be a showcase of ‘Karagam’ by the jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) which is a traditional dance of Tamil Nadu which will be a delight to watch live.
