Jammu, September 18: Over rupees 7 crores of an additional burden is going to be put on the state exchequer after the decision was made by the state secretariat to give additional five thousand rupees in the shifting allowance to over 7000 state secretariat employees for the Darbar Move.
The announcement of the decision will be made soon since the enhancement is going to be applicable by this year and the darbar move is scheduled in the last week of October.
According to official sources, a delegation of the Civil Secretariat employees had met Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu recently to present their charter of demands. In their demands, they asked to add Rs 10,000 in the moving allowance increasing it from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. The minister agreed to Rs 15,000. They also demanded the exemption from toll tax on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway for Darbar Move employees.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the recent times, the state government has been giving an excuse of financial crisis to deny wages to the daily wagers of different departments who are agitating to get their salaries.
