52nd Engineers’ day celebrated with enthusiasm in Jammu


Jammu:The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre celebrated 52nd Engineers’ day at its Institutional Complex, Channi Himmat, Jammu which was attended by large number of engineers from various departments and organisations.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, who was chief guest on the occasion, paid rich tributes to an eminent engineer and statesman “Bharat Ratna, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya”.

Divisional Commissioner recalled the key role of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya in building of modern India and exhorted upon the Engineer fraternity to follow his ideals and ideology for larger interest of the society. He praised the Engineers for their efforts they put in for providing basic services to the public.

The Div Com honored Er. Santokh Singh, FIE, Retired Chief Enigneer with IEI award for his outstanding services awarding Er. B.L. Rawal, MIE with R. L. Sharma Memorial Gold Medal for presenting the best technical paper. He also awarded Er. Vinod Kumar, MIE with Rudra Bhagwati Silver medal for presenting 2nd best technical paper besides giving away IEI Bronze Medal to Rajeev Sawhney, MIE for presenting 3rd best technical paper during the year 2018-19. He also honoured Er. S. C. Thukral, FIE, Er. K. R. Suri and FIE, Er. P. K. Nanda, MIE.

The Div Com also honored Er. S C Thukral, FIE, Er. K R Suri, FIE, Er. P K Nanda, MIE, Er. Sunil Seth, MIE, Er. Sachin Tickoo, MIE and Er Akash Dusgotra, AMIE with mementoes for presenting two or more technical papers during the year 2018-19.

Chairman IEI Jammu Local Centre, Er. Ravi Chanyal, in his address, highlighted the activities being undertaken by the Centre. He also putforth the issues of engineering fraternity like regularization and Assured Carrier Progression.

Later, the Div Com released the quarterly news letter “IEI Jammu News”.

Members of Editorial Board Er. Ravi Chanyal, FIE, Er kuldeep Kumar Badyal, MIE, Er. Anil Verma, MIE, Er. Supinder Jeet Singh, AMIE, Er, Pooja Wazir, AMIE and Er. Vijay Sharma were also presented with mementoes.
