Jammu, November 23: Police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the three other youth out of the six who assaulted a driver of an oil tanker in Nandini area.
Jhajjar Kotli Police Station has registered an FIR against six youths traveling in Indica car bearing registration number JK02AJ-0070 and Swift Dzire car bearing registration number JK20-6199 in drunken condition for assaulting a driver of an oil tanker. The driver got beaten up in rage by these six people after they tried to overtake the tanker but failed. The accused fled from the spot after the incident.
The oil tanker driver has been identified as Farooq Ahmad. He is the resident of Keegam, Shopian and was shifted to hospital for treatment. His condition was stated to be stable till reports last came in. The police has also identified six accused youth as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of Bhambla Pouni, District Reasi, Rajinder Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Kun Dhroyian Katra and Sumit Sharma, son of Naresh Chander of Katra, Surinder Singh, son of Seva singh of Kun Dhroyian Katra, Ranjit Singh of Bhambla Pouni District Reasi and Vikram Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Kun Dhroyian. The former three persons have been arrested by the police while the latter ones are still absconding. The police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand is investigating the case and has seized the Indica car in which they were traveling while the other Swift Dzire car is yet to be recovered.
As per police official, “a case under FIR Number 134/15 under Section 307, 323, 341 and 149 RPC was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli police station and manhunt was launched to nab the other three accused youth”
