‘Aadhar Linking, Whats That?’ J&K Ex-CM Defying Centre’s Order Blatantly

Srinagar, Mar 14 : With Supreme Court (SC) staying “mandatory” Aadhaar linking with bank accounts and mobile phones indefinitely till the final judgment is pronounced, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that he will not link anything to Aadhaar until he absolutely has to.
Mr Abdullah, who is also the working president of National Conference (NC), asked banks and cellular companies to stop spamming him with emails and messages.
‘Dear HDFC, Airtel & others please stop spamming me with emails/messages now. I’m not linking anything to Aadhaar until I absolutely have to,’ Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The comment by the former Chief Minister comes after a five-judge Constitution bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, on Tuesday said the government ‘cannot insist’ that citizens must provide Aadhaar details for operating bank accounts, holding phone connections and applying for tatkaal passports.
