The sequel to the much controversial first poster of PK releases this evening and actor Aamir Khan has promised/threatened (depending which side you are on) that this time there will be no boombox to act as fig leaf.
“We are releasing our second poster for PK August 20 and in that poster I am not holding any transistor even,” Aamir told reporters in Mumbai last week. The poster was to release on August 15 but was delayed to make way for the release of the first trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s film Happy New Year.
The first poster, released earlier this month, featured Aamir standing on a railway track without a stitch on, with just a strategically placed old-fashioned tape recorder-radio keeping it from being X-rated. It received a mixed bag of responses from the movie-going public, with many urging the actor to keep his clothes on and at least one legal complaint filed against him.
Aamir defended himself at the time by saying, “When you (audience) will watch the film then only you will be able to understand the idea behind (the poster). But I would just like to say that the kind of filmmaker, the kind of writer Rajkumar is, he always tries to present the things, his thinking, in a unique way and that’s why I am his huge fan.”
PK reunites Aamir with his 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani and co-stars Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput. It releases on December 20.
