Diwali serves to dissipate darkness, ignorance and evil from society
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 11: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abul Haq Khan has extended Diwali greetings to the people of the state.
In his message, Abdul Haq hoped that divine lights of glittering lamps of Deepawali illuminate lives of the people. He hoped that the festival of lights would be harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the lives of people.
He said that Diwali serves to dissipate darkness, ignorance and evil from society as people come together for celebrations ignoring caste, class and religious barriers. “I hope that Diwali this year will be celebrated by people with renewed joy, enthusiasm, peace and will add happiness to their life”.
Abdul Haq said festival of lights signifies triumph of good over evil. “Let this celebration of Diwali inspire us to follow the path of righteousness and share joy among our fellow countrymen” he said.
The Minister prayed for harmony between communities and said the festival shall strengthen bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity and tranquillity, which is the hallmark of glorious composite cultural traditions of the state and prayed for well-being of people of the state.
