Abrol highlights Azad's achievements, calls people to vote for himSenior Congress leader and Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Secretary Hira Lal Abrol today highlighted the remarkable achievements of Coalition Government in the State and UPA at Centre. Addressing a series of public meetings in hilly belt of Bani Assembly segment of Kathua district in connection with the ongoing campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, Hira Lal Abrol urged the people to vote for Congress candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad because Congress is the only party which believes that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity and wants all people from all parts of the country to live happily.

Abrol told the people that it was due to personal efforts of Azad that work was restarted on Bhadarwah-Bani-Basohli road and Bhadarwah Chamba road and results are obvious both the roads are likely to be thrown open for the public this year. During the door-to-door campaign, Abrol was accompanied by party leaders including senior Congress leader Rajnish Shamra (Mian), Block President National Conference Manu and NC leader Hadir Malik.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajnesh Sharma (Mian) said that Congress Party has always made efforts for the development of the country and formulated policies for the uplift of the poor and down trodden population. Hundreds of power projects, schools, universities, colleges, laying of numerous highways, flyovers, establishment of number of Super Specialty Hospitals, setting up of new medical colleges, connecting majority of the villages with town areas and town areas with cities are just few examples out of the long list of Congress parties’ achievements made for the people, he mentioned.

On this occasion, the people appreciated the efforts and initiatives of Ghualm Nabi Azad for setting up medical colleges and cancer institutions besides development in other sectors in the State and assured their vote and support in favour of Azad. Azad, who is also belong to remote and hilly belt, understands the problems being faced by the people of hilly terrain, Abrol said and reminded the people of the developmental projects especially the road connectivity in rural and hilly areas initiated during Azad’s tenure as Chief Minister.

The NC leaders said that UPA government at Centre and NC-Congress coalition in J&K has taken many revolutionary steps for the betterment and uplift of the people. They especially mentioned various steps taken for the development of hilly areas of Kathua district. Prominent Congress workers who were also present included Indru Devi, Hans Raj Padha, Haji Rasheed, Ashok Kumar, Dr Permanand Hardev, D.S Slathia, Roshan Lal (Youth Congress leader Bani), Sidharth Slathia (Youth Congress leader Jammu) and Sarpanch Moti Ram.
