ADDC chairs Diwali preparedness meeting
KATHUA, OCTOBER 17- To discuss the arrangements and preparedness for ensuing Diwali festival, a meeting was convened by Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua Narinder Singh Bali here at DC Office complex in Kathua today.
Threadbare discussions were held with regard to the arrangements and preparedness by different government departments and agencies. ADDC directed the authorities concerned to keep a strict vigil on the sale of the fire crackers and ensure no vendor can sell crackers at other locations except Ram Lila Ground. He asked the authorities to keep a check on whether the shopkeepers are following the guidelines laid down for the purpose.
He directed the team comprising tehsildar, Fire and Emergency services department and police to coordinate for the safe sale of fire crackers at Ram Lila Ground. He passed directions to keep the fire tenders ready to meet any eventuality. He directed CAPD and Municipality keep a check on the quality and rates of eatables, sanitation, and encroachment in market places and other busy places in the town. He directed the PDD and
PHE to ensure an un-interrupted power and water supply on the occasion of Diwali. He also passed instructions to PHE to keep the water tankers ready in case of water scarcity in any area.
He also passed instructions to the Traffic Police for the smooth flow of traffic during the festival and deputes flying squads at important installations. He directed the CMO Kathua to keep the ambulances ready and sufficient stock of life saving drugs to meet any eventuality. Legal metrology department was also directed to keep regular inspection and
penalised erring traders who were found doing any type of malpractice.
Among others XEN PDD, Tehsildar Kathua, Tehsildar HQ, AD CAPD, AC Legal Metrology, CMO, CEO Municipality, and officers of Traffic and Fire Services were also present on the occasion.
