To take stock of the maintenance work of National Highway, a team of senior officers comprising of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ajay Singh Jamwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Angrez Singh Rana, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Commanding Officer BRO, H.S Mann, Executive Engineer PHE, Nissar Khan, Deputy Director, DRDA Sham Lal Gupta, AEE of PWD, officers of Municipal Council Udhampur visited Udhampur town today.
The team on their visit to the town minutely inspected each spot and culvert from Domail to Dak Bangalow Udhampur where choking of drains had occurred alongside the NH. ADDC nominated ADC Udhampur as nodal officer for the maintenance of NH road in the city and ADDC instructed officers of Municipal Council to ensure clearance of the choked drains along the NH on war footing.
ADDC asked the inhabitants and shopkeepers nearby NH road to cooperate with the district administration in keeping Udhampur city neat and clean.
He instructed Municipality to clear the Reharis from the MH Chowk, National Highway in order to avoid jamming in the city. He directed commanding Officer BRO to repair the damaged roads and drains alongside the National Highway within the city soon and also fill the holes of the road for its maintenance.
Earlier, ADDC also convened a meeting with concerned officers regarding the maintenance of National Highway of Udhampur city at DC Office, here today.
