Admitted in GMC, Varun had no idea about the death of his father
Jammu, July 26: An ill-fated Minibus ferrying a marriage party turned turtle in Billawar yesterday after the driver lost control and in the accident two people were killed and 30 were injured, some of them seriously. 18 of these injured passengers were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu where some of the injured are still battling for life.
Among the perished are Sahil (20) r/o Baggan and Subhash Chandra (40) r/o Tehad Fittar.
Reportedly, some members from the marriage party were sitting on the roof of the mini-bus and instantly came under the bus as it turned turtle. Those inside also got received grave injuries. More lives could be saved as other Marriage party members soon followed them up and pulled the injured from under the bus and took them to safety with the help of locals and police.
All the injured were first taken to sub-district hospital from where 18 were referred to GMC. Sahil breathed his last on the way to GMC, whereas Subhash succumbed to injuries yesterday at the Hospital.
Among those taken to GMC is an eight-year-old Varun (in pic), who with others was shifted in the Disaster Ward. Varun has received injuries on head and face and is also seriously injured. Lying on the bed, traumatised, Varun had no idea that his father, Subhash Chandra, had lost the battle with life at the same hospital. During the accident, Varun was sitting in the lap of his father
Among the injured are Jyoti Devi and her 3-year-old daughter Bhoomika. Other than Bhoomika, there are four other children who are injured as well. Two children an adults among the injured were critical at the time of reporting.
Dr. Nirmal Singh had issued directions to the hospital authorities that there should not be any shortfall in the treatment of these patients on Monday.
