JAMMU, JUNE 21: On the occasion of first International Yoga Day, a function was organized by Yog Guru Bhagwat Bhushan Shri Vijay Krishan Parashar Ji Maharaj at Roopnagar in which Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment Bali Bhagat was the chief guest.
The Ministers greeted people on International Yoga Day and asked them to adopt yoga as an integral part of life for their physical and mental well being.He also praised the efforts of Yog Guru Bhagwat Bhushan in the field of Yoga.
Appreciating the efforts of Prime Minister Narindera Modi in popularizing Yoga at international level, the Minister said that Yoga being part of Indian culture was practised in the country but the credit to take the age old technique to world stage goes to the Prime Minister.
A team from Abohar (Punjab) presented Yog Kriya which was highly appreciated by the Minister and other dignitaries.
Earlier, the Minister addressed a largely attended public meeting at Hakkal village in Raipur Domana Constituency to take stock of public grievances at their doorsteps.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister exhorted that the government is committed to provide better facilities and accountable administration to the people.
Listing the measures initiated by the present Government to provide hassle-free assistance to the poor beneficiaries at their doorsteps, the Minister said that immediately after assuming the charge of Department of Social Welfare, he issued specific instructions to the officers to simplify and streamline the process of fulfilling formalities so that the poor beneficiaries can avail the benefits of various welfare schemes without any difficulty.
Under the reformative measures, the officers of the Department have been asked to organize camps in the rural areas and collect forms of the beneficiaries and facilitate in completing the formalities at the doorstep of the beneficiaries. The formalities for issuance of death certificates, age certificates, and income certificates have also been simplified and the officers of the Social Welfare Department have been directed to complete these formalities in the special camps in local areas.
He said that government would leave no stone unturned to take stringent action against Forest land grabbers. He informed that 3500 kanal of forest land has already been retrieve from the encroachers
While highlighting the measures initiated, the Minister said that work on double lane of Bantalab to Amb Grota road will be started soon as it was the long pending demand of the people of the area. He also informed that Degree college in Raipur Domana would also be constructed soon.
The people of the area apprised the Minister about the difficulties being faced by the people of Hakkal and adjoining areas. They demanded interrupted power supply, safe drinking water supply, road connectivity, installation of transformers, etc.
While responding to their demands, the Minister assured for early redressal of their genuine demands and also announced one transformer from his constituency development fund.
The Minister also addressed a public meeting at Ward No. 64 Durga Nagar. MLC Surinder Amarnath was also present on the occasion.
The people of the area apprised the Minister about their demands and grievances mainly related to shortage of drinking water supply, un-interrupted power supply, installation of high mask light in the Durga Nagar Park, construction of Toilet in the park, upgradation of lanes and drains, etc.
The Minister also announced funds from his Constituency Development Fund for the construction of Toilet near the park.
