Advocate booked for raping client in Jammu

Jammu, November 23: Police has booked an advocate over the charges of rape after he refused to marry a woman with whom he had physical relations on the pretext of marrying her.

The case has been booked at Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station and police has started investigation.

As per agency reports, the advocate has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmed, who deals with cases of matrimonial disputes. The man had developed physical relationship with one of his clients who had approached him to plead her case to seek divorce from her husband.

According to a police officer dealing with the case, “during investigation, we have found out that the victim lady came to advocate in connection with his divorce case. She wanted Ishfaq to fight her case in the court and during regular meetings, the Advocate developed intimate relations with her and promised of marrying her after she gets divorce from her husband.”

The lady got divorce from her husband but the Advocate refused to marry her following which she approached a court and now the case has been registered, the officer added
