After three years Pvt School Teacher convicted in Rape case in Srinagar
Srinagar, February 26: A private school teacher in Srinagar was convicted on Thursday for the charges of raping a minor student in the year 2013.
A private school teacher named Pervaiz Ahmad Dar who lives in New Colony Old Barzulla in Srinagar was proven guilty of raping one of his students who was a minor girl three years back and he was convicted by the Second Additional District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, Sham Lal Lalhal. However, the quantum of punishment will be announced by on Monday.
The judgment copy of the case reads, “From the close scrutiny of the entire evidence, I come to the inescapable conclusion that the prosecution have been able to prove the charge(s) against the accused by leading clear, cogent, reliable, convincing and dependable evidence beyond any shadow of doubt,
Reports also said that the teacher was found culpable of committing offence under sections 342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of RPC apart from being guilty under section 376 (rape).
Pertinently, he was arrested by the team of police officer of Police Station Saddar where the complaint was filed by the brother of the victim on December 12, 2013. The case was registered under FIR No. 242/2013 and medical treatment was also provided to the victim girl by police at Lal Ded Hospital
Subsequently, after recording statement of victim and the witnesses and obtaining medical certificate, a charge sheet was presented by police against Dar under relevant criminal sections of RPC. After around an year, the court framed charges against Dar. Though he denied the allegations and claimed to have been tried but the prosecution was directed to lead evidence against the accused and he was found guilty.
