Agusta chopper deal: Supreme Court nixes plea for SIT scrutiny

New Delhi, Feb 13,  The Supreme Court on Tuesday negated a Public Interest Litigation seeking a Special Investigation Team probe in the Chhattisgarh Government purchase of VIP helicopters manufactured by AgustaWestland.

The bench comprised Justices AK Goel and UU Lalit.  Non-Governmental Organisation Swaraj Abhiyan and others had alleged that the Raman Singh dispensation had purchased the choppers in dubious fashion through a sham tender.
