Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal VM, took the charge of Air Force Station Jammu as the Air Officer Commanding, today. He assumed the command vice Air Commodore Prasanth Eknath Patange YSM, VM, who relinquished it, prior to proceeding on posting.
A colorful ceremonial parade as per the customs and tradition of the IAF marked the occasion of change of command. The parade was commanded by Group Captain SP Singh Chief Operations Officer (COO), of Jammu Air Force Station. The air warriors turned out in their crisp blue uniform, exhibited smart drill movements to rousing and inspiring martial tunes like “Sare Jahaan Se Achha”. The parade was also witnessed by the families of air warriors of the station.
Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal VM was commissioned in the flying branch in the IAF in December 1987. He is an alumnus of NDA and a graduate from DSSC Wellington. He is a cat ‘AYE’ qualified flying instructor and a test pilot. He has held various prestigious command & staff appointments during the course of his service in the IAF. He was also a part of the United Nations peace keeping mission in Congo. Prior to taking over the command of Air Force Station Jammu, He was functioning as Air Attatche in Ukraine.
Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal VM is a highly decorated officer and has been awarded the Vayu Sena Medal, Chief Of Air Staff Commendation and has been commended by AOC-In-C & VCAS.
The reins of Air Force Wife Welfare Association were also handed over to Mrs Deepanjali Bhakshi lal by Mrs Mamta Patange on this occasion.
