Anantnag Encounter: Terrorists killed in Bijbehara encounter identified


SRINAGAR: The bodies of two terrorists killed in Bagender Bejbehara have been identified and both are locals.

Two local terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed by security forces in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Anantnag district of south Kashmir on Thursday, official sources said.

The terrorists were identified as Safder Amin Bhat, 25, son of Mohammad Amin, a resident of Zirpara Bijbehara. Safder joined militancy on 12-05-2017, after clearing his 12th class exam. He was affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.

Another terrorist was identified as Burhan Ahmad Ganie alias Saifullah, 25, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, a resident of Malipora Hablish Kulgam, at present SK Colony Anantnag. Burhan had cleared 12th class and was undergoing Bachelor of Physiotherapy. He joined terrorist ranks (HM) on 24-06-2018.

He said arms and ammunition, including two Ak and one Self Loading Rifle (SLR) were recovered from the slain terrorists. (Agencies)

The encounter at Bagender began After a joint team of Army’s 3RR, SOG Anantnag laid siege in Bejbhera after having credible inputs about the presence of some terrorists in the area on Thursday early morning.
