Anantnag, January 05: An inquiry has been set up against an SE (superintending engineer) of PHE Department after complaints of misbehaving with a female subordinate employee in his office.
As per a report published by a local daily, a female staffer has lodged a complaint of misbehavior done to her by a SE in a letter submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Muneer-ul-Islam. The DC has constituted a one man inquiry committee headed by Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Younis to probe into the complaint. The committee had examined four out of five eyewitnesses so far.
The victim in her complaint letter has said that early in December last year, the SE called her into his office and gave her news of her transfer. He also told her to meet the PHE chief engineer to stay the transfer order. The AEE and senior assistant was also present in his office at that time. The lady alleges that she felt something suspicious about meeting with the PHE chief engineer since a contractor had also called her earlier that day telling her to meet chief engineer or else she will get transferred.
The woman alleges that she had written a letter to DC who had assured her action would be taken within three days but now almost 20 days have passed, but investigation is heading no where.
However, the ADC Anantnag has said that the investigation is under process. The committee has recorded statements of four witnesses, including AEE and senior assistant and SE is told to present himself before the inquiry committee on Wednesday at 11 am.
He assured that investigation into the case would be completed within the next couple of days.
