Residents of Channi-Himmat Housing colony are not only dealing with the poor road conditions, over flowing drains and erratic power supply they have to often deal with the high headed buffaloes marching on the main streets to prevent any mishap.
During peak office hours motorists have to deal with free flowing rush of buffaloes and some times they remain stuck there for longer duration as these animals literally lock horns with each other leaving no space for motorists to find their escape route.
The lucky ones some times manage to pass through but many a times these fighting creatures rush towards honking four wheelers sending shivers down the spine of those occupying drivers hot seat.
On certain occasions even some of the vehicles have been hit by these animals but no effort has been made by the JMC to address the issue.
Till date no one from the Jammu Municipal Corporation have ever made an effort to pass instructions to the owners of the dairies to restrict movement of their livestock during peak office hours or ensure a caretaker is deployed to look after their animals.
The residents of Channi-Himmat have been facing this problem for a very long time and with growth of dairy industry the problem of menacing buffaloes is increasing.
It is high time JMC authorities should come forward and find an answer instead of waiting for some accident.
