Srinagar, July 20 : A resident of Khumryal in the Lolab sector of North Kashmir’ Kupwara district, a 51-year-old man, identified as Ghulam Mohammad Mir, who was admitted to the SMHS in Srinagar, after being hit by a bullet during a protest four days ago succumbed to his injuries today.
After the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen’s commander on the 8th of July, the valley has been in a state of turmoil ever since. Stone-pelting by the civilians in their protest against the slain militant’s death and their consistent support for Azadi, has led to clashes between them and the security forces.

Hundreds of civilians and security officials have been injured in the agitation and with the death of Ghulam Mohammed Mir the death toll in the valley has risen to 48.
