Another prominient youth NC leader jumps ship and joins PDP
Srinagar: Prominent youth activist from Zadibal Assembly segment, Mr Mohammad Imran Bhat Saturday joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was welcomed into the party fold by the senior party leaders, Mr Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, Mr Molvi Aabid Hussain Ansari and Mr Mohammad Ashraf Mir, MLC.
Mr Bhat was the National Conference’s youth block president for Zadibal constituency.
Welcoming Mr Bhat into the party fold, Mr Molvi Imran Raza Ansari said the PDP by way of its pro-people agenda has become a natural choice of all right thinking people. He said the people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of the state must become part of the PDP’s story of change.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Molvi Aabid Hussain Ansari, PDP’s candidate for Zadibal constituency, said PDP is committed for the people’s cause and it will always uphold their aspirations and sentiments. “The doors of the PDP are open for the people who want to contribute in the party’s efforts to see the state out of the present mess,” Molvi Aabid said. He hoped that Bhat’s joining will further strengthen the party in the area.
In his address the party’s District President and MLC Mr Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that youth have an important role to play in building peace, prosperity and socio- economic development in Jammu & Kashmir. He said PDP values and understands the sentiments of youth and it would put an every effort to address all their issues and grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhat said he was impressed by the party’s agenda which aims at bringing in a change in the mindsets about the problems facing Jammu & Kashmir. He said he was also influenced by the leadership of the party which is working selflessly in order to bring about a complete change in the exploitative system that has impacted adversely several generations of the people particularly youth.
