Computer test allegedly preponed for the ‘influential’
Jammu, November 18: In an alleged recruitment scandal that has surfaced in the office of Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB), it has been reported that the computer typing test for various posts was preponed. The candidates who were waiting for the test since long allege that the test was preponed to adjust the influential candidates.
The JKSSB had advertised for various posts of junior assistant in division and district cadre of various government departments in 2013 for which the candidates got shortlisted on August 26 this year for a computer typing test.
The date selected for the computer typing test was November 17 for district Doda cadre from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and NIELIT Centre, New University Campus was set as the centre of exam. The sources said that when the candidates reached the centre, they were told that there was no test on the date. On further exploration, the candidates found out that the exam had already been conducted in the previous month.
JKSSB Secretary S.A. Raina, redirected the matter to the division officer who in turn said that the notification for the test was revised and it was sent to Information Department for publishing in the print media. The test was conducted last month.
The aspirants who became the victims of this conspiracy have urged the Chief Minister to intervene into the matter and initiate an enquiry against the SSB members who cheated hundreds of aspirants belonging to remote areas by preponing the test.
