Anantnag, April 16: Anantnag Police have claimed of busting a militant module by arresting four of them who were involved in the past twin grenade attacks in the south Kashmir town.
The suspected militants are said to have carried out two Grenade Attacks in the Srinagar-Jammu national highway on March 26 and April 8. In which five persons, two of them Army men and three civilians, were injured in the two attacks.
A senior police official from the area said that, Phone records, human inputs and CCTV camera footage were used to monitor the movement of the suspects and finally four of them have been arrested and booked.
The Police have recovered a hand grenade from their possession. They have been booked under attempt to murder, and the Arms Act.
The police officer told that, these militants were planning to carry out more attacks along the national highway. He said it was a big achivement for them to burst the module and a serious setback to recruitment attempts made by militant groups.
Official says that, more arrests are to expected as bijbehara has witnessed heightened militant activity in the last year.
Sources say militants might be trying to recruit more youth from the town.
