SRINAGAR: The Anti-Beef Bill was adjourned with Kavinder Gupta keeping away from Making any statement on the same. The speaker groundeed the bill on Thursday without taking up it up. Stating clearly that parliamentry proceedings can run nolonger than 1:30 apm, law and parliamentary affairs minister Basharat Bukhari justified the grounding of the bill.
But Omar Abdullah disputed Bukhari’s statement saying that there is no such rule. Taking a dig at Bukhari’s statement, he said Lunch has nothing to do with discussing the bill.
“We don’t need to take lunch but discuss the bill,” said Omar.
“When we can sit in assembly up to 9 pm in Jammu why we can’t sit here and discuss the bill,” he asked.
However, Bukhari and Abdul Haq Khan thwarted the extension of time.
