Education Minister reviews developmental scenario in Bandipora

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: The Minister for Education, Mr Naeem Akhtar today made it clear that copying won’t be allowed in any case and an institutionalized mechanism is being developed by the Government to curb this menace.

Speaking at an officer’s meeting at Bandipora, the Minister said instructions have been issued to all the District Development Commissioners of the State to take whatever measures are required to prevent copying at examination centres. He said special squads have also been constituted for the purpose who will be conducting surprise checks of the examination centres.

The Minister also conducted an extensive tour of Bandipora to review the progress of development works and basic amenities there.

At Aham Sharief, the Minister reviewed the arrangements for Mairaj-e-Alam and asked the district administration to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply in the area during the blessed days. He also called for maintaining cleanliness in and around the shrine.

At Athwatoo, the Minister said that he would take up with the Chief Minister, the issue regarding disuse of the tourism facilities created there in 2008. He said the 11 KM long Bandipora-Athwatoo road would be taken up for upgradation under Central Road Fund (CRF) scheme.

The Minister also took stock of the public facilities at Dooth, which is known for the distinct shrine of a lady saint.
