Anti-hijacking Police detects passenger carrying jewelry worth 7.7 lakhs
Jammu, March 25 The Anti-hijacking Police has detected a passengers carrying jewelry worth Rs. 7.7 Lakhs from Jammu to Srinagar, which was brought from Dubai.
According to reports, the security staff detected one passenger Suhail Mir Sio Ab. Qayom Mir R/o Sonawar, Pulpura- Srinagar travelling from Jammu to Srinagar (Spicejet-160) carrying 335.54 grams in the shape of jewelry amounting to Rs. 7,71,398.81/- purchased from Malabar Gold and Diamonds-AL Watan Centre, Dubai stated SSP AHJ Raj finder Gupta.
The matter was brought to the notice of Khalid Majeed, Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes (V&1), Jammu who imposed a penalty of Rs. 23,142/- for tax evasion. It is pertinent to mention that a large number of tax evaders have been caught at Airport in the last one month.
