Anti-India sloganeering at Dental College; Indian Flag burned

Jammu, April 1: A case of alleged seditious activity has come to fore where a student in Government Dental College Jammu raised anti-India slogans as well as burnt the Indian National Flag thus disturbing communal harmony and brotherhood.

The alleged sloganeering was led by a student Inzamam s/o Babbu Hassan from Rajouri who is also alleged to have burnt the national flag on heater in the hostel of the Dental college as per the statement of the hostel warden, doctors and students of the hostel, who also had a verbal spat with the student.

Sources told U4UVoice that Inzamam has been expelled from college earlier as well. The students of Dental College had arranged for the viewing of the Cricket match between India and West Indies with the permission of Dr Ramesh Gupta, Principal dental college. During the match, Inzamam got up and snatched the Indian Flag away from a girl student and raised Pro-Pakistan slogans. The teachers pacified the students asking them not to react to Inzamam who is known to be anti-social.

A local leader has also apporached IG Police Jammu, Danesh Rana, to arrest the accused and register FIR with a sedition charge for the antinational act.

A source in police has confirmed to U4UVoice that an investigation has been initiated into the matter and an FIR may be registered today evening.
