King Bharati, Senior Journalist and National Spokesperson while appreciating the manifesto of BJP for paying heed towards Kahsmiri Pandits said that the party has responded quite positively to their demands by issuing a detailed blue print for KP’s return and rehabilitation before elections. But the party is yet silent on the major demand of introduction of Temple Bill in the State Assembly. In a Press Conference organized by All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee(APMCC) had asked all the political parties contesting the elections to come out with a detailed blueprint regarding their stand on the dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir Valley before seeking their votes or KP’s would use NOTA. APMCC said that Kashmiri Pandits were disappointed that all other political parties chose to ignore their demands and continued with their decades old rhetoric of dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits ignoring the six point charter of demands and the detailed blue print before elections. BJP, instead of mentioning KPs in a casual manner, has gone into detail and accepted our three demands which was a welcome step but the party must also clear its stand on Temple Bill which has been the major demand of APMCC. He further said that BJP should have mentioned the Temple Bill in the manifesto and asked it to clear its stand soon so that KPs get a clear signal if the party supports the demand, for which APMCC has gone for two historic fast-unto-death hunger strikes in Jammu and Porbandar Gujarat. The BJP has shown its seriousness towards Kashmiri Pandits and demands of APMCC which was a good signal for the community. While other demands in our Six point charter of demands are equally important our major concern is silence of the party on Temple Bill which we hope will be addressed soon by introducing re-drafted bill with our 15 point amendments so that our efforts for last so many years are taken care of and a right signal goes across the community, said Bharati. While the other parties like NC, PDP, Cong have disregarded KPs aspirations, indulging in hollow promises.
